Explosive {Bomb} Detection Dogs {EDD}

The world has now changed forever and terrorism remains a very real threat to every country with no citizen safe from the effects of these extremists. We have seen the affects of 9/11 and Bali with the massive loss of life and the Billions of dollars spent on Anti Terrorism. Explosive detection dogs for private, business and Government organizations play an important role in the fight against terror. 
 

Selection:

Multi National K9 Specialist explosive detection dogs are carefully selected from several potential candidates. In general one in 20 dogs will pass the full evaluation for explosive dog training. The passing dogs will then go through a medical examination and further preliminary training and socialization tests over the next 14 days to ensure only the best will start in training. 

Breeds used for Bomb dog training:

We will select either pure bred or cross breed dogs that have the ability to be trained as EDD. Breeds we evaluate for selection include;

Multi National K9 Explosive Detection dogs are trained on the following odors:

·        Black Powder {including safety fuse}

·        Smokeless Powder

·        Ammonium Nitrate

·        Dynamite

·        TNT {Trinitrotoluene}

·        Plastic Explosive

·        Sodium Chlorate

·        Potassium Chlorate

·        Water Gel

·        PETN {Pentaerythritol Tetran Nitrate} PETN is also used in detonating cord and as the base charge in detonators.

·        RDX {Cyclotrimethienetrinitritramine Trinitro triazacyclohexane} This explosive is also known as Cyclonite or Hexogen.

Multi National K9 EDD training venues:

We have several locations we train and proof the dogs for operational bomb detection and handler training.

At MNK9 we have a dedicated house specifically set up for the training of detection dogs and several fields for open area searches. On location we have the full use of a large car wrecking yard of over 300 cars and an accommodation venue with numerous rooms.

EDD handler training program:

The Handler training course is two weeks at MNK9 covering many aspects required in the operations of an explosive dog. Other programs can also be incorporated including safe use and handling of explosives and corporate bomb scare training procedures.

Accommodation 

Meals and road transportation is also included in the handler training program. Each EDD handler will also receive leads, collars, long lines, toys and odor packages for their EDD.

Explosive dogs available for sale:

Multi National K9 will train the EDD to suit your application as you may need fully trained operational dogs or evaluated and tested green dogs. Included in the price are the two week handler training program, accommodation and meals. Training program is optional for Military and police providing they have an existing EDD program.

1.     Fully trained explosive detection dog trained on all of the above odors.

Comment: Option 1. Is a tactical operational EDD ready for immediate work after the handler training program.

2.     Trained explosive detection dog trained on three {3} odors.

Comment: Option 2. Is trained on the most common explosives such as ANFO, Gunpowder, TNT or PETN. This will give the buyer the choice of adding more odors in training or keeping the dog on specific locally used explosives.

3.     Trained explosive detection dog trained on only one odor.

Comment: Option 3. Is the best choice for departments that have an EDD program as the dog is conducting full searches and passively indicating on black powder or another odour. Introduction or other odors in training can be added or the dog may be only needed for the detection of firearms.

4.     Fully evaluated and tested green dog ready for detection training for explosives.

Comment: Option 4. Is exclusive to departments that are recruiting K9’s for detection programs including Narcotics. The dogs are fully health checked and tested for retrieval and search drives. The dog is also extensively socialized to ensure environmental soundness.
